Gujarat unveils new electronics policy

All eligible investors will be granted 100 % reimbursement on stamp duty and registration fees

Gujarat has unveiled its Electronics Policy 2022-2028 that will be the roadmap to make the state a national hub of Electronics System Design & Manufacturing (ESDM). Envisaged to play a major role in the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, this new policy aims to provide employment to more than 1 million people in five years and generate close to $30 billion from Gujarat’s electronic manufacturing vertical. Investors interested in investing in the ESDM will be incentivised with 20% capex that will have a ceiling of Rs 200 crore. All eligible investors will be granted complete reimbursement on stamp duty and registration fees. While investors are exempted from paying electricity duty, they will be granted a power tariff subsidy of Rs 1 per unit for 5 years.

Additional incentives under the new Electronics Policy include interest assistance of upto 7% on a term loan for 5 years and logistics subsidy of upto 25% on the freight charges for 5 years capped  upto Rs 5 crore per annum.
