Himachal Pradesh electricity bill payments and charges

Himachal Pradesh is a hilly area with semi-tropical to semi-arctic climate conditions. The Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board (HPSEB) was established on 1st September 1971 and is responsible for providing electricity to the entire state. Citizens can make their electricity payments both online and offline in Himachal Pradesh.

What is the Himachal Pradesh electricity bill online payment procedure? 

The HPSEBL web portal is a user-friendly platform. This portal generates all accounting and inventory records in real time, further assisting the department in generating electricity bills. This allows the citizens to pay their bills online. They can apply for new electricity connections on this portal. Here is how you can pay your Himachal Pradesh electricity bill online. 

1. Go to the official webpage of Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Ltd – https://www.hpseb.in/HPSEBOnlinePayment/index.html. 
2. Now, fill in your 12-digit consumer ID and security captcha. 
3. Click on the “Get Details”. 
4. Now, you will see your consumer’s name and location. 
5. Write your email ID and mobile number in the respective columns. 
6. Now, click on ‘View and Pay Bill’. 
7. You will be able to see two modes of payment gateways- HDFC Bank and Bill Desk. You can choose your preferred payment gateway. 
8. Click ‘Pay Bill’. 
9. Choose your payment modes and make the payment. 

Please note that there are no hidden payment gateway charges except for payment via BillDesk through a Debit Card (Except Rupay) for transactions greater than Rs. 2,000/-. In that case, a charge of 0.77% will be levied.

 

How to pay Himachal Pradesh electricity bill via mobile app? 

1. Register and log in to the app using your mobile number.
2. Add connections/meters using your 12-digit consumer ID. It is printed on every electricity bill.
3. Use the app to see electricity bills, consumption, and payment history, and pay electricity bills Online.
4. You can also register complaints like meter problems, cable problems, theft, etc.

 

How to pay the Himachal Pradesh electricity bill offline?

If you want to pay your bill offline, go to the nearest HPSEBL office. Take your electricity bill with you, and once the bill has been paid, you will get a receipt.
