Bikash Bhavan Scholarship: Eligibility criteria 

To be eligible for the Bikash Bhavan Scholarship, applicants must be residents of West Bengal who are currently enrolled in a high school, undergraduate, or postgraduate course at a recognized university. However, the applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria to qualify for the scholarship:

  • The applicant’s family annual income should not exceed Rs. 2,50,000
  • A minimum of 60% marks in aggregate are required in Class 11 and Class 12 with WBBSE or WBCHSE affiliation.
  • The minimum grade requirement for undergraduates is 60% in the aggregate.
  • Scholarships are available to students who have passed the Madhyamik examination in 2022 and have enrolled in the first year of the Diploma program. They could also have passed the VOCLET and taken admission through lateral entry. The candidate must secure a minimum aggregate of 60% to qualify.
  • For post-graduation, the candidate must secure a minimum of 53% overall in their graduation (honours subject) from any State University or an aggregate of 55% in engineering.
  • Kanyashree (K3) applicants must present an approved and recognized K-2 ID. Furthermore, they must have graduated with a minimum of 45 percent and be enrolled in a postgraduate course in the arts, science, or commerce.

Bikash Bhavan Scholarship: Documents required 

To apply for the Bikash Bhavan Scholarship, students must submit the following documents for a swift verification process:

  • Copy of the Madhyamik examination mark sheet or its equivalent
  • An official copy of the last board/council/university/college examination
  • A copy of the admission receipt
  • Family income certificate (Except for Kanyashree)
  • Certificate of domicile, i.e., Aadhaar card, voter ID, ration card, or other document issued by the relevant authority.
  • Copy of the initial sheet of the bank passbook
  • Suppose an applicant selects the year of the qualifying exam as 2021 when registering. In that case, a certificate from a competent authority like HOI must be submitted.

Bikash Bhavan Scholarship: Renewal procedure

The renewal process is simple and easy to follow and applies to only a few scholarships. However, it is wholly based on the merit of the applicant.

Eligibility criteria for renewal of Bikash Bhavan Scholarship

  • Undergraduate/Diploma course applicants must hold a minimum of 60% in their final examination from Class 12 or higher secondary.
  • A candidate who seeks to extend their scholarship while studying for a postgraduate degree must have obtained at least 50% of an under-graduation.
  • To meet the requirements for renewal, the candidate must pass all exams on the first go.
