HUDCO inks MoU with Rajasthan govt for funding infra projects

Under the agreement, a loan of Rs 20,000 crore per year will be provided to the state government for infra projects.

July 26, 2024: Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO) on July 24, 2024, announced a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Rajasthan government to provide financial support for housing and urban infrastructure projects. The MoU was signed by Sanjay Kulshrestha, CMD of HUDCO, and Debasish Prusty, IAS, Secretary to the Government, Finance (Budget) Department, Rajasthan, in the presence of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma.

 

The agreement outlines an in-principle arrangement for up to Rs 1 lakh crore in financial assistance over the next five years, with Rs 20,000 crore allocated annually for infrastructure projects such as water, irrigation and electricity.

 

Additionally, on July 24, 2024, HUDCO handed over a cheque for Rs 1,577 crore to the Rajasthan Water Supply and Sewerage Corporation (RWSSC) for the Jal Jeevan Mission. HUDCO has played a crucial role in funding various housing and urban development projects across India, emphasising affordable housing and slum rehabilitation.
