Kharghar, in Navi Mumbai, is developed in a planned way and provides all the facilities that one would desire, in a residential location. The physical infrastructure is excellent, with the presence of top schools and colleges for under-graduate and post-graduate studies and several hospitals for healthcare.

Schools: DAV International School; Apeejay School; Ryan International; Vishwajyot High School; Greenfingers Global School; Radcliffe School; Sanjivani International School; Harmony International School.

Colleges: Ramsheth Thakur College of Commerce and Science (RTCCS); Institute of Technology and Management; AC Patil College of Engineering; Saraswati College of Engineering; YMT College of Management; Bharati Vidyapeeth Dental College; National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT).

Hospitals and diagnostic centres: Kharghar Medicity Hospital; Om Navjeevan Hospital; Niramaya Hospital; MITR Hospital.

Connectivity: Kharghar is connected to Mumbai’s local train network, via the Central Railway’s Harbour Line. This node also has one of India’s longest skywalks, connecting the railway station to the central area. The Mumbai-Pune Expressway is also close to Kharghar.

Business and industry: Education hub.

Petrol pumps: Available in almost all the areas, including Sector 2, 12, 14, 19, 22, etc.

Civic facilities: Sufficient water supply, 24-hour electricity and well-planned drainage system.

Other facilities: Central Park, spread over an area of approximately 290 acres.

 

Existing and proposed physical infrastructure

The Central Park located in Kharghar, is an advanced recreation facility, developed by the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO). It offers various facilities to the public, such as theme parks, a jogger’s track and sports areas.

A metro rail project from Belapur to Navi Mumbai Airport, which passes through Kharghar, it is expected to start soon. Kharghar is also an attractive tourist destination, with waterfalls and temples, in its vicinity.
