Maha CM seeks Centre’s approval of Thane Ring Metro Project

One underground metro station of this project will be connected with the Thane Railway Station.

October 9, 2023:  Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has sought the Central government’s approval for the 29-km proposed ring metro project in Thane city, mentioned an official release from the district administration.

Shinde met the Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri in Delhi and sought approval from the centre’s side for the metro project on October 6, 2023.

The Thane Ring Metro Project will have 22 stations. While 26 km will have elevated metro stations, three km will be underground, mentioned the official release. Out of this, one of the underground metro stations will be connected to the Thane Railway Station.
