January 5, 2024: The Maharashtra government has fixed the one-way toll charges for cars on the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL) at Rs 200. This is for the stretch from Sewri to Shivaji Nagar (Ulwe). The return journey toll for cars is Rs 300. The Shivaji Nagar-Gavhan stretch will attract a toll of RTS 50. The one-day pass is Rs 500 and the. monthly pass is Rs 10,500.
The MTHL is India’s longest sea bridge and was inaugurated on January 12, 2024 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is also the world’s 12th longest bridge.
Note that the toll charges for return journey, daily and frequent travellers on the MTHL will be different. The toll rates will be reviewed and revised after a year. The announced toll will be valid from January 13, 2024 to December 31, 2024.
An interesting feature that the MTHL will include is the Open Road Tolling (ORT) system with which people can pay the toll tax without stopping.
Initially, the toll calculated for the MTHL with the Bandra Worli Sea Link as the bench mark totalled to around Rs 500 for one-way. This was discouraged by the chief minister’s office owing to being very expensive. Finally, the set amount is only half of the total amount that has been calculated on the basis of the toll collection rules that exists.

To be known as the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Sewri-Nhava Sheva Atal Setu, the MTHL is a 21.8 km sea-bridge that has been built at a cost of Rs 21, 200 crore. It will reduce the travel time between Navi Mumbai from more than one and half hours to 15 -20 minutes by connecting Sewri in Mumbai with Chirle, located along the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) Road.
