Maha govt postpones auction of Nirmal Developers’ Mulund plot

This auction is a result of MahaRERA issuing multiple recovery warrants to the developer for delayed possession to homebuyers.

Failure by Nirmal Developers to honour the multiple recovery warrants by the MahaRERA has resulted in the Maharashtra government auctioning the builder’s land parcel in Mulund, Mumbai. MahaRERA’s warrants were a result of delayed possession to homebuyers and repeated complaints lodged by them.

Spread over 2,634 sq metres in the Jawahar Talkies compound, Mulund (West), the plot will be auctioned at a price of Rs 31.81 crore. To be held on January 18, 2023, the auction was postponed citing technical reasons.

Sandip Thorat, Tehsildar, Mulund told Moneycontrol, “We have postponed the auction after getting intimation from the suburban collector’s office. The developer claims to have settled dues of some homebuyers. Hence, we will first address the technical issue raised by the developer and conduct the auction. The auction is only postponed for another date, which is not fixed yet.”

The auction will take place at the Tahsildar office in Mumbai. Bids for the auction have to be made in multiples of Rs 1 lakh.
