Maharashtra Housing Board: All you need to know

The board serves around 7.5 Lakh families in Maharashtra.

The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) provides houses in the state. The housing board offers affordable housing units in the state through its lottery system. It serves around 7.5 Lakh families in Maharashtra. Majority of the projects offered by the MHADA are under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) ‘Housing for All’ by 2024. MHADA is divided into several boards that cover the entire state, these include:

  • Mumbai Building Repairs & Reconstruction Board (MBRR)
  • Mumbai Slum Improvement Board (MSI)
  • Konkan Board
  • Pune Board
  • Nashik Board
  • Aurangabad Board
  • Nagpur Board
  • Amravati Board

 

MHADA lottery

MHADA provides houses in the state. These housing units are available for the economically weaker section (EWS), low-income group (LIG), mid-income group (MIG) and high-income group (HIG). The MHADA lottery can be applied on

https://housing.mhada.gov.in/landing.

Note, only citizens of Maharashtra can participate in the lottery scheme.

In 2024, the Mhada board has brought in lotteries in Pune, Nashik, Aurangabad and the Konkan mandal.

Pune Mhada lottery 2024: Announced in March 2024, the lucky draw will be held on May 8, 2024 and around 4777 units will be given.

Aurangabad Mhada lottery 2024: The Aurangabad lottery will be giving away 941 units and 361 plots.

Nashik Mhada lottery 2024: The Nashik lottery will be giving away 841 units and lucky draw will be held in May 2024.

The various lotteries held by the board in 2023 include:

  • Pune MHADA Lottery 2023: Two lotteries were held in 2023. January 2023: At least 2,992 units were given based on lucky draw held in March 2023.

September 2023: At least 5,863 units were given based on lucky draw held in December 2023.

  • Aurangabad MHADA Lottery 2023: Close to 900 units were given, based on lottery held in March 2023.
  • Konkan MHADA Lottery 2023: At least 5,311 units were given.
  • Mumbai MHADA Lottery 2023: At least 4,082 units were given.

Some units given in these lotteries were served on ‘First Come First Serve’ basis across its various boards.
