August 25, 2023: The Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) has increased the convenience fee payable by clients, agents and users. The new charges are effective August 20, 2023.
MahaRERA: New convenience fee structureÂ
- For new project application form, promoters had to pay Rs 750. Now they will have to pay Rs 1,050.
- The fees for project extension form has been increased to Rs 700 from Rs 500.
- For project withdrawal form, the promoter will have to pay RS 700 as opposed to the earlier Rs 500.
- The project status update fee that has to be paid annually by the developer has also been increased to Rs 700 from Rs 500. The same is the charge to be levied on GIS integration with MahaRERA online application system.
- New agent registration form and agent renewal form to be paid by agents has been increased to Rs 700 from Rs 500.
- Complaint registration form cost has been increased to Rs 70 from Rs 50 and this service can be used by the promoter, agent or the citizens.

According to point 48 of the MahaRERA general regulations, the authority may, by order, fix standard fees, including annual fees, to be levied on the promoters or real estate agents or allottees for inspection of documents, certified copies of documents, the updating of website, database management and maintenance of the website.
The Maharashtra Information Technology Corporation (MahaIT), a wholly owned company by the government of Maharashtra, had asked MahaRERA for the marginal increase in convenience fees for the total overhaul / revamp of the existing MahaRERA IT System.
