Mhada lottery 2023 Konkan Mandal to offer 4,016 units

The registration of the Konkan Mandal Mhada lottery 2023 starts in the first week of August 2023.

August 9 ,2023: A proposal to halve the Mhada earnest money deposit (EMD) has been sent by the Konkan Board to the Mhada vice president for approval, mentions a Navbharat Times report. Presently, for applying for the Mhada lottery

  • EWS applicant has to pay Rs 10,000 as EMD.
  • LIG applicant has to pay Rs 2o,000 as EMD.
  • MIG applicant has to pay Rs 3o,000 as EMD.
  • HIG applicant has to pay Rs 4o,000 as EMD.

However, one the approval comes across,

  • EWS applicant has to pay Rs 5,000 as EMD.
  • LIG applicant has to pay Rs 1o,000 as EMD.
  • MIG applicant has to pay Rs 15,000 as EMD.
  • HIG applicant has to pay Rs 2o,000 as EMD.

With the reduction in EMD, Mhada gives the opportunity for more people to participate in the Mhada lottery. Also, because of this, people can apply for more than one Mhada unit in its lottery.

July 24,2023: The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (Mhada) Konkan board, also known as the Konkan Housing and Area Development Board (KHADB), will be giving away 4,016 units under the Konkan Mandal Mhada lottery 2023 during Ganeshotsav. These units will be available in Virar-Bolinj, Dombivli, Balkoom, Khoni, Shirdhon and Gotheghar.

Media reports mention the advertisement for this lottery will be released soon.

Of the 4,016 units,

  •   656 units will be given under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana
  •   1,082 units will be given under the 20% scheme
  •   2,211 units will be given under Konkan Mandal First Priority
  •   67 units will be given under Journalist (digital) quota

Note that Konkan Mandal had announced a lottery of 4,654 units in March 2023 and the lucky draw was held in May, 2023. Of this, only 2,131 units were sold. Even from this, reports suggest that 600 winners returned the houses. The remaining 2,523 units have been added to the Konkan Mandal lottery to be held during Ganeshotsav. While some of the units will be added to the ‘First Come First Preference’ scheme for Bolinj, some would be added to the 20% scheme in Balkoom.
