The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has approved the master plan for fast travel in Kalyan-Dombivli area. This wasdecided in a review meeting attended by Kalyan MP Shrikant Shinde, other public representatives and MMRDA commissioner Sanjay Mukherjee.
Important projects like Kalyan Ring Road, Katai Airoli Unnat Marg, Taloja Khoni to Old National Highway No. 4 road, Shilphata Flyover and also projects to strengthen the transport system in Ulhasnagar, Kalyan, Dombivli, Diva, Ambernath were reviewed, tweeted Shinde. These projects were started to improve the connectivity between Kalyan, Dombivli, Diva, Mumbra, Kalwa, Ambernath and Ulhasnagar.
Kalyan Ring Road project
“The land acquisition for phase III of the Kalyan Ring Road project has been completed by 87%. The tender for this phase will be issued soon. Encroachments, obstructions and related issues in other phases of the project will be resolved soon,” mentioned a tweet by Shinde.
Also, as part of phase VIII of this project, a 650 m road will be connected to the Agra National Highway. The MMRDA has sanctioned Rs 55 crore for this.
Other projects
Other projects include the sanction of Rs 11 crore for Chakki Naka to Nevali to Haji Malang Road in Kalyan and Rs 73 crore for the U type road in Kalyan East.
A flyover was sanctioned for Nevali chowk on the Katai Badlapur National Highway. A sum of Rs 22 crore has been sanctioned for this project.
