If you’re looking for government quarters in Mumbai, you’ll need to go through the General Pool Residential Accommodation (GPRA) portal. You can access this portal through the E Sampada or EAwas Mumbai website

The Central Public Works Department and the Directorate of Estates are responsible for the maintenance of these central government quarters in Mumbai. Allotments for these central government quarters are made through the Automated System of Allotment (ASA). Through the newly launched E Sampada system, officers in Mumbai can apply for GPRA Mumbai homes.

 

GPRA Mumbai Account: How to login?

  • The first step is to visit the GPRA Mumbai official website. Once you’re there, click on the ‘e-Awas’ option. 
  • This will take you to the page where you can fill up the GPRA Mumbai form to request a login ID. 
  • Enter all the necessary information and submit the form. You should receive an email with your login ID and password within a few days. 
  • Once you have your login ID, you can log into the website and start filling out the application form. 
  • Make sure to fill out all the required fields and upload all the necessary documents. 
  • After you’ve submitted the form, all you have to do is wait for a decision from the committee.

 

GPRA Mumbai: What is the process for applying for Government Quarters in Mumbai?

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has launched the ESampada portal, which aims to streamline the process of applying for government quarters in Mumbai. Here’s what you need to know about the process: 

  • You can either log in with an id and password generated through E-Awas or you can request login credentials by selecting ‘register now’ from the Mumbai ASA portal. Be sure to have all of the required documents ready before you begin the application process.
  • Afterwards, your form will be sent to the administrative officer to be verified online, and then it will be forwarded to the Directorate of Estates for processing.
  • Upon being placed on the waiting list, your account will enable you to select your preferences during the monthly bidding period. Once you’re logged in, you’ll be able to see all the available units and apply for the one that best suits your needs. 
  • You can also check the status of your application and see if you’ve been approved or not.

Do you have to accept the allotted Government Quarters in eAWAS Mumbai?

If the applicants fail to accept the house allotted to them, they will be prohibited from receiving any further allotments for a period of three months. An applicant can request a change of accommodation once if the first allotment did not suit them. If the allottee does not accept the change of allocation, they will not be eligible for another change.

 

ASA preference (bidding) for house allotment

You can make preferences (bidding) for the allotment of houses through the Automated System of Allotment (ASA). Here’s how: 

  • Log in on the E-Awas portal using your User ID and Password. 
  • Select ‘Allotment’ and then ‘Allotment Preference’ from the options displayed on the screen. 
  • Select the type of house you wish to bid for from the options provided. 
  • Choose the location of the house from the drop-down menu. 
  • Enter the Bid Amount and click on ‘Submit’.

In the course of bidding, applicants may modify their home preferences as much as necessary. Applicants who exercised preferences until 5 p.m. on the last day of bidding will be allocated. Online bids may be submitted from the 5th to the 14th of each month for all types of housing. However, the allocation will occur on the 15th of each month.

 

How do I request a change of accommodation?

If you’re not happy with your current accommodation, you can request a change of accommodation from the e-Sampada portal. 

  • Simply log in to the e-Sampada portal, go to the ‘My Requests’ tab, and click on the ‘Request Change of Accommodation’ button. 
  • You will then be prompted to fill out a form with your current address, the address you would like to move to, and the reason for your request. 
  • Send a hard copy of the application to the regional offices in Mumbai, which must be forwarded by his/her office.
  • As part of the bidding process, applicants can indicate their preferences for areas during the bidding period for a specific type of accommodation, subject to availability.

Once you submit the form, your request will be sent to the concerned authorities for review. Please note that you may not always get your first choice of accommodation, but the process is usually quick and hassle-free.
