Mumbai Metro Line that covers Colaba-Bandra-Seepz is also known as the Aqua Line. This is an ongoing project being implemented by the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL). When completed, the 33.5-km-long Mumbai Metro Line 3 will be the first underground metro line in Mumbai. This metro will have 26 under-ground stations and one at grade station.

- Mumbai Metro Line 3 is expected to reduce the traffic load by nearly 15%.
- The total length of the Mumbai Metro Line 3 is 33.5 km.
- Mumbai Metro Line 3 will run along Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ corridor. It will connect key financial hubs, such as Nariman Point, Bandra-Kurla-Complex, Fort, Worli, Lower Parel, Goregaon, etc.
- Mumbai Metro Line 3 will provide connectivity to airport, Nariman Point, Cuffe Parade, Kalbadevi, Worli, BKC, Airport, SEEPZ, and MIDC.
- It will connect two important heritage stations of Mumbai, that is Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and Churchgate.
- The Aqua Line would help in replacing the existing suburban trains at Churchgate, CSTM, Mumbai Central, and Mahalakshmi. The existing suburban train facility would go hand-in-hand with the Mumbai Metro Line 3 to take train services closer to other city areas.

Mumbai Metro Line 3: Construction status
The phase-1 part of the Mumbai Metro Line 3 is from Aarey Colony to Bandra. The phase-2 of the Mumbai Metro Line 3 is from Bandra to Cuffe Parade.
While phase-1 is expected to start operations by April 2024, phase-2 is likely to start operations by October 2024.
Mumbai Metro-3 Extension
As per the original approved plan, the Mumbai Metro Line 3 was supposed to terminate at Cuffe Parade. However, the state government is exploring the option of extending it till Navy Nagar.

Mumbai Metro Line 3, or Aqua Line connects south Mumbai and the western suburbs, both have a very sought after real estate market. Most projects in these areas will be either resale, or redevelopment projects.
