Mumbai Metro Line 9 phase-1 is expected to be operational by 2024-end, says the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA). This 10.58-km line, also known as the Red Line 9 extension, has eight stations and will connect Mumbai with Mira-Bhayandar and decongest the city entrance at the Dahisar toll naka.
Phase-1 will include Dahisar (E) to Kashigaon and Phase-2 will include Kashigaon to Subhash Chandra Bose stadium. According to media reports, there is also a possibility of Metro Line 9 further being extended by 1.5-2 km till Uttan, where land for card shed is being searched for.
The first phase is being worked to start early as it interconnects Metro-7 at Dahisar (East) and will help scores of people in their daily commute. Around 3 to 4 rakes will be required to start Phase-1 of Mumbai Metro Line 9.
Mumbai metro-9 will also interconnect with Mumbai Metro-line 10 at Miragaon metro station. The entire Metro line 9 operations are expected to start from December 2025.

Among the stations in this line, the Meditiya Nagar station’s construction is now 63.63% complete, mentioned MMRDA. Meditiya Nagar station is one of the highest stations on Metro-9 rising 35 meters above road level and has three levels with vehicular flyover on level one, level two having a concourse and a platform on level three. The station will rise 35 meters above road level in total. There are a total of eight stations present and around 51% of station work has been finished.
