February 29, 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 28, 2024 released the 2nd and 3rd installments of the Namo Shetkari MahaSanman Nidhi worth about Rs 3800 crore. This move will benefit over 88 lakh beneficiary farmers across Maharashtra.
Launched in October 2023, the Namo Shetkari MahaSanman Nidhi provides an additional amount of Rs 6,000 per year to the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Yojana in Maharashtra. As part of this scheme, the money will be directly transferred by the Maharashtra state government in the beneficiary’s account. Thus, with this scheme, the farmers in Maharashtra will get a total of Rs 12,000 every year.
Additionally, the PM also released the 16th instalment of over Rs 21,000 crore under the PM-KISAN Yojana on Feb 28, 2024. With this release, an amount of more than Rs 3 lakh crore, has been transferred to more than 11 crore farmers’ families in India.
