The NH17, also referred to as the National Highway 17, is an arterial road in India, which connects Sevoke near Siliguri in Darjeeling, West Bengal with Guwahati, Assam. The highway covers several cities and towns along its route and serves as an important transportation link for the region.

 

NH17: Route

The National Highway 17 is 477 km long. The NH17 route starts from the NH10 junction and terminates at the NH27 junction. Along its route, the NH17 covers the following districts:

National Highway 66, erstwhile NH-17

The National Highway 66 was formerly known as the National Highway 17. It is a four-lane, 1608-km-long highway road that connects Panvel, Mumbai with Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu along the western coast of India. The road runs parallel to the Western Ghats, covering Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The highway is maintained by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways has proposed a greenfield access-controlled expressway corridor parallel to the NH66, which would mostly be located in coastal Karnataka. It will connect the port cities of Mangalore-Karwar-Panaji under the Indian National Expressway Network.

 

National Highway 66: Route

The NH66 route passes through Panvel and Mahad in Maharashtra, Panaji in Goa, Karwar, Udupi, Surathkal and Mangalore in Karnataka, Kannur and Kozhikode in Kerala and Nagercoil and Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu.
