The National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) is developing a 320-metre river bridge on the Mumbai Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor (MAHSRC). As per officials, the first river bridge on the MAHSRC is being developed on the Par River in Gujarat’s Valsad district. The bridge comprises eight full span girders spanning 40 metres each.
According to NHSRCL, the height of the piers will range from 14.9 to 20.0 metres and the circular piers will have a diameter of four-five metres. The bridge development works on major rivers such as Narmada, Tapti, Mahi, and Sabarmati are underway.
MAHSRC is an under-construction high-speed rail corridor project, connecting Mumbai and Ahmedabad. It is India’s first bullet train project to be developed using Japan’s E5 Shinkansen technology and will cover over 508 km through Maharashtra, Gujarat, Dadra and Nagar Haveli.
