In a move that would boost connectivity between Aligarh in western Uttar Pradesh to Palwal in Haryana, the Network Planning Group (NPG) under the PM GatiShakti evaluated widening of the National Highway-334D.
In its 67th meeting held on March 12, 2024, the NPG discussed the prospects of turning the section between the two cities into a 4-lane road project. In January this year, bids for the four-laning of the Aligarh-Palwal section on a hybrid annuity mode.
The NH-334D runs between Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, connecting Aligarh, Khair, Jewar and Palwal. While 66 km of this highway lies in Uttar Pradesh, 17 km lies in Haryana.
“The project by the road and highways ministry aims to improve connectivity between Aligarh and Palwal districts, particularly benefiting traffic towards the Jewar Airport and providing a better connectivity with the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway,” the ministry said in a statement.
The project encompasses major bridges, minor bridges, railway crossings, service roads, toll plaza, truck lay bay and various other features to enhance the movement of freight and people.
