May 8, 2023: The Noida Authority has sealed over 100 unsold flats of three housing projects over non-payment of dues by the builders amounting to Rs 1,086 crore. The action was jointly taken by the departments of group housing, planning and the local work circle of Noida on May 4, 2023.
The officer on special duty (Group Housing), Prasun Dwivedi, said that action was taken over non-payment by the developers and to expedite the registry of homes taken by buyers
A residential tower of Gardenia Aims Developers in Sector 46, with around 110 unsold flats and the project office have been sealed. At Logix Infrastructure’s project in Sector 137, two unsold flats, two stores and a marketing office have been sealed. One unsold flat of Gardenia Gateway India’s project in Sector 75 has been sealed.
According to an official, there are dues worth Rs 603.15 crore to be cleared by Gardenia Aims Developers, Rs 379.65 crore by Logix Infrastructure and Rs 103.38 crore by Gardenia Gateway India, which must be paid to the Noida Authority.
According to Dwivedi, these developers have not applied in the reschedulement scheme of the authority to expedite the registry of flats of buyers. Even after notices sent to them to recover the dues, they have not deposited any money with the authority. He further added that similar action would continue in future against developers who do not clear dues of the authority and expedite the process of flat registration.
