October 3, 2023: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 2, 2023, attended the Griha Pravesh of over 2.2 lakh houses built under PMAY-Gramin, in line with the Housing for All vision. He also inaugurated the houses constructed under PMAY-Urban that cost around Rs 140 crore.
As part of his visit to Gwalior, the PM also dedicated and laid the foundation stone of multiple development initiatives worth around Rs 19,260 crore.
The PM inaugurated the Delhi-Vadodara Expressway, which has been developed at an estimated cost of Rs 11,895 crore. Modi also laid the foundation stone for five different road projects worth over Rs 1,880 crore.
As part of his visit, the PM laid the foundation stone of Jal Jeevan Mission projects worth over Rs 1,530 crore in Gwalior and Sheopur districts. As per the PIB statement, these projects will together benefit over 720 villages of the region.
Modi also laid the foundation stone of nine health centres under Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission that will be developed at a cost of over Rs 150 crore.
The other projects whose foundation stone was laid by the PM include IIT Indore, Multi-Modal Logistics Park in Indore, Integrated Industrial Township in Ujjain, IOCL bottling plant, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Divyang Sports Training Centre at Gwalior, etc.
Additionally, earlier in the day, the PM launched various development projects worth about Rs 7,000 crore in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan.
He inaugurated the Rs 4,500-crore Mehsana – Bhatinda -Gurdaspur Gas Pipeline to promote gas-based economy. The PM inaugurated the four-lane road on the National Highway 12 (NH-12) which is the new NH-52 on the Darah-Jhalawar-Teendhar section. This has been constructed at a cost of around Rs 1,480 crore. With this transportation of the produce of mines from Kota and Jhalawar districts will be easy. Further, Modi also laid the foundation stone for constructing and widening railway over bridge (ROB) from two lane to four lane in Sawai Madhopur. The other railway projects include the doubling of Chittorgarh – Neemuch Railway line and Kota – Chittorgarh Electrified Railway line. These projects have been completed at a cost of more than Rs 650 crore.
