PM flags off 5 new Vande Bharat Express trains from Bhopal

That brings the total count of operational Vande Bharat Express trains in India to 23.

June 28, 2023: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 27 flagged off five new and upgraded versions of the Vande Bharat Express train from the Rani Kamalapati railway station in Bhopal.

These trains will not only provide a faster means of connectivity but also boost local tourism in the region.

The five routes are – Rani Kamalapati-Jabalpur, Rani Kamalapati-Indore, Goa (Madgaon)-Mumbai, Ranchi-Patna, and Dharwad-Bengaluru. These will connect the state capitals of Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Maharashtra and Karnataka.

Rani Kamalapati-Jabalpur Vande Bharat Express

The train will cover the distance between Rani Kamlapati Railway Station and Jabalpur Station on the same day, with stoppages at Narsinghpur, Pipariya & Narmadapuram Railway stations.

 

Rani Kamalapati-Indore Vande Bharat Express

The train will cover the distance between the Bhopal Railway Station and Indore station on the same day, stopping at Ujjain Railway station in between.

 

Goa (Madgaon)-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express

The train will cover the distance between Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Station and Madgaon station on the same day with stoppages at Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Khed, Ratnagiri, Kankavali & Thivim Railway stations.

 

Ranchi-Patna Vande Bharat Express

The train will cover the distance between Patna and Ranchi station on the same day, with stoppages at Gaya, Kodarma, Hazaribag, Barkakana & Mesra Railway stations.

 

Dharwad-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express

The train will cover the distance between KSR Bengaluru City and Dharwad station on the same day, with stoppages at Yeshvantpur, Davangere & Hubballi Railway stations.

In Karnataka, the Dharwad-Bengaluru Vande Bharat train will connect Vidya Kashi Dharwad, Vanijya Nagari, Hubballi and Bengaluru. It will connect North Karnataka to South Karnataka.

These newly upgraded Vande Bharat Express trains offer superior amenities and advanced state-of-the-art safety features, including KAVACH technology. Each bogie has a fully suspended traction motor for 160 kmph operational speed.

It is expected of the trains to save about 30% of electricity and also improve the ‘Green Footprint’ of the Indian Railways.
