May 12, 2023: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched projects worth over Rs 4,400 crore in Gujarat on May 12, 2023.
He also participated in the griha pravesh of 18,997 units built under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) scheme. The PMÂ also inaugurated 19,113 houses through a video link and performed ground-breaking ceremony for 4,331 houses. From the Rs 4,400 crore, the total outlay of these projects is around Rs 1,950 crore.
During the course of the program, Modi also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of development projects worth over Rs 2,450 crore. These projects include projects of urban development department, water supply department, road and transport department and mines and minerals department.
The projects inaugurated include the augmentation of multi-village drinking water supply schemes in Banaskantha district, a river overbridge in Ahmedabad, a drainage collection network at Naroda GIDC, sewage treatment plants in Mehsana and Ahmedabad and an auditorium in Dahegam among others.
The foundation stone was laid for projects including. bulk pipeline projects in Junagadh district, augmentation of water supply schemes in Gandhinagar district, construction of flyover bridges, new water distribution station and various town planning roads.
As part of his official trip, Modi attended the Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Sangh Adhiveshan in Gandhinagar and will visit Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT) City as well.
