The Prime Minister scholarship is mainly a scheme to aid with the education of the kids belonging to backward groups and belonging to the Dependent Wards and Widows of Central Armed Police officials and Assam Rifles and State Police Personnel.
This is a basic scholarship accessible for all of those students who have lost their parents and parental figures in wars and other mishappenings in the country. Males and females receive different types of scholarships.
PMS scholarship: Eligibility
To qualify for this scholarship, the candidate must meet the requirements listed below:
- The candidate must be a dependent child or widow of a deceased CAPF or AR member, a former CAPF or AR member, a retired CAPF or AR member, or a State Police officer.
- His or her course of study must be professional.
- The candidate must have earned a diploma or a Class 12 passing grade.
- The applicant’s exam results from the previous year must have been at least 60%.
- Professional and technical courses are combined to provide integrated courses (dual degrees), such as BE+ME, BTech+MTech, BBA+MBA, etc. In these situations, only the initial professional degree will be awarded a scholarship.
- Integrated Courses (dual degrees), such as BA + LLB, BCom + LLB, or BSc + BEd, have a first degree that is academic (non-professional) and a second degree that is professional or technical. In these situations, students will only be compensated for the professional portion of the course and not the academic or non-professional portion.
- A scholarship will only be given for the professional aspect of a dual degree course, not for the academic component, to a student studying integrated courses when one degree is professional, and the other is not. The following example helps to show the same:
- In the BA+LLB (dual degree course), the non-professional BA is the first degree, and the professional LLB is the second degree. Therefore, only the professional part will receive financial help (the LLB).
- When the first degree is non-professional and the second degree is professional, the student must have successfully completed his prior two years of non-professional coursework in order to be eligible for the PM scholarship beginning in the third year. Students will be ineligible to apply for a scholarship if they repeat, receive a RA, or fail. A student will not be eligible for a scholarship grant and their application will be denied if they do not successfully complete all of their first- and second-year courses in the period allotted from the date of admission.
