In June 2006, the Prime Minister launched a new 15-point plan to improve minority communities. It stipulates the introduction of a post-high-school scholarship program for bright members of underrepresented groups. Haryana’s Post-Matric Scholarship for Students from Low- to Middle-Income Families, 2021–22, is a funding program for high school graduates and older students interested in furthering their education. Those from Haryana’s lowest socioeconomic strata are eligible for this scholarship from the state government. Awards for the chosen students will vary.
The program’s goal is to improve minority students’ access to higher education, increase their rate of higher education completion, and boost their employability by awarding scholarships to deserving students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
Scholarships will be given to students who have maintained a GPA of at least 3.0 and whose parents or guardians have an annual income of less than Rs. 1 lakh. Scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate academic excellence and financial need in an effort to motivate them to pursue postsecondary education. The state’s motto for its higher education system is “Access, Equity, and Quality,” all of which are supported by this incentive. A nation is shaped by its generation. As a result, the governments of India and Haryana are always making an effort to entice youngsters to pursue higher education.
