RLDA to lease 22,182-sqm land near Bagdogra railway station

The land parcel will be leased out for 99 years. The reserve price of the land is Rs 73 crore.

The Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) has invited bids to lease a 22,182-sqm plot near the Bagdogra Railway Station for residential-cum-commercial purposes. The land parcel will be leased out for 99 years and the reserve price of the land is Rs 73 crore. The deadline for submitting e-bids is February 14, 2023.

Several developers who participated in an online pre-bid meeting held on January 4, 2023, expressed interest in leasing the land parcel.

“The proposed land parcel is ideal for residential as well as commercial development because of its proximity to the railway station and the airport. The land parcel is adjacent to the Bagdogra Railway Station and only 2.8-km from the Bagdogra Airport. It is very near to Siliguri city centre… a lot of new townships have already been developed in the near vicinity. Its strategic location will provide ample opportunity for development of this land parcel,” says Ved Parkash Dudeja, vice-chairman, RLDA.

The RLDA is the statutory authority for the development of railway land. It is responsible for leasing commercial sites, colony redevelopment, station redevelopment and multi-functional complexes. During the current financial year, the RLDA has leased 22 sites across the country.
