The Saifee Burhani Upliftment Trust (SBUT) laid the foundation stone for Sector 4 named ‘An-Nasr’, part of Phase-2 of Bhendi Bazaar redevelopment on February 7, 2023.
Of the total 16.5 acre of land undertaken for redevelopment, Sector 4 covers around 1.5 acre. This will include around 1,400 residential units and over 375 businesses. 74 dilapidated buildings will be redeveloped into two new towers of 53 and 54 storeys each.
This redevelopment project is divided into nine sub-clusters or sectors for better management and functionality. Phase-2 of the Bhendi Bazaar redevelopment also includes Sector 6 Al-Ezz, construction work for which began in 2021.
SBUT completed the first phase named Al-Sa’adah in 2020 that improved the living standards of over 610 families and 128 businesses. As part of the redevelopment, the trust also provided retail establishments within the planned constructions for roadside vendors to better their livelihoods and create an inclusive society.
