August 1, 2024: Renowned Bollywood playback singer Sonu Nigam has sold a commercial property in Mumbai for Rs 7 crore, as shown by documents accessed by Propstack. The property is situated on Dattaji Salve Marg in Andheri West and has a built-up area of 2,131 square foot (sqft), with a per square foot rate of Rs 32,848. The commercial space, which includes two car parking slots, was sold to two buyers from Delhi, with the sale deed being registered on June 28, 2024.

Earlier this year, Sonu Nigam’s father, Agam Kumar Nigam, purchased a luxury property in Versova, a posh area of Mumbai, for Rs 12 crore, with a stamp duty of Rs 72 lakh. In April of the previous year, Sonu Nigam bought two commercial properties in Andheri, covering an area of 5,547 sqft, for Rs 11.37 crore.

Other Bollywood celebrities, including Karishma Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan and Ajay Devgn, have also invested in commercial properties to benefit from high rental yields. For instance, Karishma Kapoor rented out a 2,199 sqft commercial space in Grandbay, Bandra West, for Rs 5 lakh per month starting in November of last year. Similarly, Ajay Devgn leased an office space in Andheri West for Rs 9 lakh per month for a five-year term.
