Swami Vivekananda scholarship 2023: Important dates

Fresh application verification from the institution’s end will be closed on June 7, 2023.

Renewal application submission for both 2021-22 and 2022-23 sessions will be closed on June 12, 2023.

  • The Swami Vivekananda scholarship’s major goal is to offer financial help to deserving students in the state.
  • The Vivekananda scholarship programme will enhance the state’s literacy rate while simultaneously creating jobs.
  • The Swami Vivekananda scholarship initiative will be available to all students from economically disadvantaged households in the state.

 

Swami Vivekananda scholarship eligibility criteria

Under the Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means (SVMCM) scholarship 2021 eligibility criteria:

  • The applicant of Vivekananda scholarship must be a resident of West Bengal
  • The annual household income of an applicant of Vivekananda scholarship must not exceed Rs 2,50,000.

West Bengal’s chief minister, Mamata Banerjee, altered the eligibility conditions for the Swami Vivekananda scholarship. All students who received more than 60% on their state board test can avail of the Swami Vivekananda scholarship. Previously, the Swami Vivekananda scholarship initiative had a 75% qualifying requirement.

Swami Vivekananda scholarship: How to apply 

To apply for the Swami Vivekananda Scholarship 2023 application form, follow the steps below-

  • Click on the Registration button on the top right-hand corner of the page.

 

  • You will be redirected to a page. Read the instructions carefully and click on the confirmation check box at the bottom of the page. Then click on Proceed for Registration.

 

  • On the next page, select the registration category and click on the Apply for Fresh Registration button.

  • Fill in the registration form and click on Register.

  • On the next page, upload the supporting documents.

 

  • Click on Submit Application to complete the registration.

Swami Vivekananda scholarship: Selection process

Eligible candidates are sorted in descending order based on their marks in the qualifying examination besides their income. The Vivekananda scholarship is granted given the availability of funds and the merit list. Finally, the funds are transferred to the candidate’s account if the documents are in order.

Swami Vivekananda scholarship renewal process

For the Swami Vivekananda scholarship renewal or any Swami Vivekananda scholarship, an application must be submitted to the authority within one month of the date of promotion to the next higher class. Follow the steps below:

Visit the Swami Vivekananda Scholarship official website

  • Select the Renewal Application button 
  • Log in using your credentials on the Swami Vivekananda Scholarship official website
  • Fill in the required information
  • Upload all the necessary documents on the Swami Vivekananda Scholarship official website
  • Finally, submit the application on the Swami Vivekananda Scholarship official website

Note that you must pass all your exams on the first attempt for availing Swami Vivekananda scholarship.

 

Swami Vivekananda scholarship renewal based on academic performance:

  • Minimum 60% marks must be scored in the higher secondary to graduate level.
  • Minimum 50% marks must be obtained at the postgraduate level.

  • Copy of the marksheet of the previous examination.
  • Admission receipt to the next higher class.

To register a grievance, follow the steps below-

  • Go to the Swami Vivekananda scholarship official website at https://svmcm.wbhed.gov.in/
  • Scroll down the page till you reach the Grievance Registration section

  • Click on the Grievance Registration section. You will be redirected to a new page on the Swami Vivekananda scholarship website. 

  • Pick the criteria that matches your requirement. 

For Applicant grievance submission

  • Click on the Registered Applicant or Not Registered Applicant button accordingly.
  • If you are a Registered Applicant, you need to enter your Application Id, Password, and Security code to login.

  • If you’re Not Registered Applicant, you need to choose between Guest Registration and Guest Login.

  • If you choose Guest Registration, you will have to enter your personal details to register.

  • For Guest Login, you will have to enter your mobile number to Verify Registration.

  • After you log in, you will have to fill up the grievance form and click on Submit for registering your grievance.

 

For institutions grievance submission

  • Select between the Registered Institution and the Not Registered Institution button given the state of your institution.

  • If you’re a Registered Institution, enter your Username, Password, and Security Code to login.

  • If you choose the Not Registered Institution button, you’ll have to select between the Guest Registration and Guest Login buttons for grievance registration.

  • If you want to register as a guest, you’ll have to fill the form that appears and then click on Register.

  • For Guest Login, you will have to enter your mobile number to Verify Registration.

  • After you log in, you will have to fill up the grievance form and click on Submit for registering your grievance.

 

For districts grievance submission

  • To register your grievance, click on the District Inspector (DI) button.

  • Enter your details to login.

  • After you log in, you will have to fill up the grievance form and click on Submit for registering your grievance.
