Thane’s Grand Central Park to be inaugurated on Feb 8

The Grand Central Park is spread across 20 acre.

February 6, 2024:  A 20-acre park in Thane city’s Kolshet area will be inaugurated on February 8, 2024. The park has been developed by the Thane Municipal Corporation under the Suvidha Plot Development Project.  The Grand Central Park is inspired by the Central Park in New York City and Hyde Park in London. 

Media reports highlight that Sandeep Malavi, additional municipal commissioner, Thane conducted a tour of the park on February 5, 2024 and mentioned the facilities it will have.

According to media reports, situated amidst the Ulhas River Creek and the Sanjay Gandhi National Sanctuary, the Grand Central Park will house 3,500 diverse tree species and offer recreational spaces.

The Grand Central Park has four themed parks including the Mughal Garden, a Chinese park, a Moroccan park and a Japanese parks. It also has a jogging track, skating yard and dedicated spaces for yoga.
