The Tilak Bridge Railway Station (station code TKJ) is on the Northern Railways’ New Delhi-Hazrat Nizamuddin Line in the Old Delhi division. It is located in the central part of Delhi, near the Tilak Marg and ITO (Income Tax Office) area.
The station has four platforms. It is named after freedom fighter Bal Gangadhar Tilak.
The Tilak Bridge Railway Station is directly connected to 189 stations, including Ghaziabad Junction, Meerut City Junction, Muzaffarnagar, Panipat Junction, Agra Cantonment, Moradabad, Bareilly, Gurgaon, Rohtak Junction, Bhatinda Junction, Faridabad, Vrindavan Road, Mathura Junction, and Aligarh.
Every day, up to 103 trains pass by the station. It is roughly 16 km from the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
The Delhi Ring Railway Line, on which Tilak Bridge is located, is a circular railway line that loops around central Delhi, connecting important railway stations like New Delhi, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Old Delhi, Sarai Rohilla and Shakurbasti. The station sees significant footfall during peak hours, as it serves as a transit point for many office-goers and commuters travelling to and from the central business district and surrounding areas.
