Sports and recreation have become an integral part of modern lifestyle, and most homebuyers want to ensure their families have access to such facilities within easy reach. Nowadays, housing projects are equipped with amenities such as clubhouse, swimming pool and gymnasium. Among the many theme-based projects, sports-based townships are gaining popularity. In this article, we look at some of the top cities where you can invest in a sports-based housing project.

What are sports-themed homes?

Sports-themed residential projects are projects that focus on providing sports facilities to the residents. These are complexes are equipped with golf course, cricket grounds or sports academies of international standards. Such townships have open areas and green spaces to engage in recreational activities. They may include sports amenities such as a basketball court, squash court, tennis court, yoga rooms, etc.

 

Top cities in India to invest in sports-themed homes

Delhi-NCR

Gurgaon and Noida are among the top cities where many developers have launched sports-theme townships. Some projects include the Corridors by Ireo at Sector 79, Gurgaon and Ajnara Sports City in Noida Extension.

Navi Mumbai

The concept of sports themed townships is popular in Navi Mumbai. Godrej Golf Meadows is a residential project in Navi Mumbai’s Khanavale, Panvel. The project is equipped with a basketball court, a cycling & jogging track and an expansive golf course.

Chennai

Chennai is also attracting developers who have come up with some sports-themed projects. Hiranandani Parks in Oragadam is a 369-acre integrated township with modern sports facilities matching Olympics standards. The project offers luxury villas for investment.

Bangalore

Bangalore has also witnessed the development of sports-based housing projects. One such project is the Embassy Pristine at Koramangala, which has a multi-sports complex with amenities such as an outdoor pool, an indoor heated pool, aerobics and meditation, a basketball court, a squash court, etc. It provides membership to a sports club run by experts from the hospitality industry. Other sports-based projects in Bangalore include Nitesh Wimbledon Park at Race Course Road and Century Sports Village along Bellary Road.

Kolkata

Sports-themed townships are also coming up in Kolkata. Merlin Group has developed a sports-themed greenfield township worth over Rs 2,000 crore near New Town, Kolkata. The project includes a football pitch, a cricket ground, an indoor sports arena and a swimming pool.
