Uttar Pradesh (UP) chief minister Yogi Adityanath has issued instructions to prepare plans for the construction of two new link expressways in the state. CM Yogi has asked officials to prepare a detailed action plan to build a 60-km link expressway to connect Purvanchal Expressway with Lucknow-Agra Expressway. Further, he has asked to conduct a study and prepare necessary proposals for connecting Ganga Expressway with Farrukhabad district. This move aims to connect all expressways with each other to boost connectivity in the state.
The construction of the Purvanchal Expressway and Bundelkhand Expressway in Uttar Pradesh has already been completed successfully, while Ganga Expressway, Ballia Link and Gorakhpur Link Expressway are currently being constructed. Also, maintenance work is ongoing on Bundelkhand Expressway, which is to be developed as a Solar Expressway. Moreover, plantation is to be done on Purvanchal Expressway’s northern slope and solar energy projects are to be developed on the southern slope.
Budget provisions have also been made for the construction of the 14-km-long four-lane Chitrakoot Link Expressway. Furthermore, 11 industrial corridors will be developed along the Ganga Expressway, six in Bundelkhand, five in Agra-Lucknow, six in Purvanchal and two along the Gorakhpur Link Expressway.
