Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the Varanasi Cricket Stadium on September 23, 2023. The event was attended by Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath, former Indian cricketers Sachin Tendulkar, Ravi Shastri, BCCI president Roger Binny and vice-president Rajiv Shukla and secretary Jay Shah.
