India’s Central government provides eligible farmers with an amount of Rs 6,000 per year under its Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, known as the PM Kisan Yojana. Since this money is credited to the bank accounts of registered farmers in three equal instalments of Rs 2,000 each, the government releases it thrice a year.
Since the start of this direct benefit transfer scheme in 2019, the government has released 15 instalments under the PM Kisan Yojana to date. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 16th PM Kisan instalment in February 28, 2024.
