What makes Mumbai’s Chembur the perfect locality to have a home?

Several infrastructural developments in Mumbai in the last one decade, have been in and around Chembur, making it a suitable destination for living

Many locations in Mumbai are earmarked as excellent, luxurious locations but the lack of infrastructure development has often played spoilsport. Since buying a house involves three key parameters: a luxurious property, a remarkable location and an attractive budget, one should be clear about the importance the location plays, in this.

If one were to select a locality in Mumbai that fits well on all these parameters, Chembur would emerge as the key contender. This is because Chembur is seeing great infrastructure development action, like no other location.

Infrastructure development

Several infrastructure developments in Mumbai in the last one decade, have been in and around Chembur, making it a suitable destination for living.

Excellent infrastructure in the form of wide roads, presence of train networks and the various link roads have provided Chembur with easy connectivity with neighbouring locations like Ghatkopar, Kurla and Mankhurd. That is true about other key areas in the city, as well.

With the Eastern Express Highway, one can easily reach south Mumbai within 20 minutes from Chembur. Also, with the coming up of the Santacruz–Chembur Link Road (SCLR), the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport can be reached in 30 minutes. The Western Express Highway connects Chembur to the central and the western suburbs. Another point that works in favour of Chembur is its proximity to Mumbai’s commercial nerve centre, the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC). With the opening up of the BKC-Chunabhatti flyover, commuting has become much easier.

This is the area where India’s first monorail has also been constructed under phase-I, from Chembur to Wadala. As part of phase-1, the monorail network has been extended till Jacob circle. It takes close to 35 minutes to reach the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus via the local train services from Chembur and around 40 minutes to reach Panvel from Chembur. So, clearly this is the link between Mumbai and its satellite city, Navi Mumbai.

Chembur: A locality with several landmarks

Chembur, an ever-prominent location, continues to command prominence. The Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), the Monorail network and The Bombay Presidency Golf Club are some of the landmarks that Chembur and its surrounding areas have. The location is self-sufficient, with all the basic facilities like excellent education institutions, including St Gregorios High School, Our Lady of Perpetual Succour High School (OLPS), Swami Vivekanand College and Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), among others. Healthcare facilities in Chembur include Joy Hospital and Zen Hospital, among others. Additionally, malls like The K-Star Mall and Cubic Mall take care of the entertainment requirements. The huge local Chembur station market takes care of the shopping and eatery requirements of the residents of Chembur.

Residential realty on the rise

This location has a variety of residential real estate options across budgets. Projects like Viceroy from LD -Lalit Dharmani are already garnering great attention from home seekers, owing to the premium living it promises.
