388 MHADA buildings in South Mumbai to be redeveloped

These buildings will be redeveloped under Development Control Regulation (DCR) section 33(7) with an FSI of 3 or an additional incentive FSI of minimum 78%

The Maharashtra government is set to issue a notification for the redeveloping of 388 MHADA buildings in South Mumbai that are more than 30 years old.  The move by the state will come as a relief to nearly 40,000 people.

Under the Development Control Regulation, these buildings will be offered  a floor area ratio of 3 or an additional incentive FSI of minimum 78% under the Prime Minister’s Grant Project (PMGP) buildings in south Mumbai. As a result of this, owners with units spanning 160-225 sqft will get around 400 sqft of area.

Prior to this, 66 old MHADA buildings were redeveloped where an FSI of 3 or additional incentive FSI of minimum 78% was offered.
