The Maharashtra government is set to issue a notification for the redeveloping of 388 MHADA buildings in South Mumbai that are more than 30 years old. The move by the state will come as a relief to nearly 40,000 people.
Under the Development Control Regulation, these buildings will be offered a floor area ratio of 3 or an additional incentive FSI of minimum 78% under the Prime Minister’s Grant Project (PMGP) buildings in south Mumbai. As a result of this, owners with units spanning 160-225 sqft will get around 400 sqft of area.
