August 22, 2023: Uttar Pradesh chief minister (CM) Yogi Adityanath on August 19, 2023, visited the Ram Mandir construction site in Ayodhya to evaluate the work progress. The CM also met the officials of the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, the agency overseeing the development work of the Ayodhya Ram Temple.

“The chief minister gathered details about the progress on the construction of the Ram Temple from Champat Rai, general- secretary of the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust… The chief minister discussed the ongoing work with officials to understand its current status. Local representatives were also present during the inspection,” said the Uttar Pradesh government in a statement.

The Ayodhya Ram Mandir is expected to be inaugurated between January 15 and January 24, 2024. The idol of Ram Lalla is set to be consecrated within the sanctum sanctorum of the temple on a date between January 16 and 24, 2024, following the Makar Sankranti festival.
Meanwhile, superstar Rajinikanth also visited the Ram Mandir construction site and offered prayers at the temple on August 20. The actor also visited the Hanuman Garhi Temple and paid obeisance.
“I wished to come here for a long time, and I am fortunate that the wish has been fulfilled. If the Lord wishes, I will come again after the construction of the temple is completed,” he told the media.
