January 12, 2024: In the latest housing scheme of the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), a total of 274 apartments, including seven penthouses and 138 super HIG flats, offered through e-auction mode, have been booked, according to media reports.
The registration for these flats commenced on November 30, 2024, and the e-auction began on January 5, 2024. The last date for online registration to participate in e-auction and submission of online EMD (earnest money deposit) was December 29, 2023.
As cited in a Hindustan Times report, a senior official said there was ‘fierce competition’ among the bidders during the entire process, signifying ‘high demand for DDA (Delhi Development Authority) flats.’ He said that the premium received was as much as 80% in some cases.
The ‘Diwali Special Housing Scheme 2023’ entails allotment of newly built or soon-to-be completed flats through an end-to-end online system.
The scheme offered 14 penthouses in Dwarka’s Sector 19B, 170 super HIGs and 946 HIGs. 316 and 647 MIG flats were offered in Sector 14 and Lok Nayak Puram, respectively.
The penthouses were available for a price of Rs 5 crore, while Super HIG flats were available for a price of Rs 2.5 crore.
