How to register your EPF complaint on EPFiGMS?

EPFO members have the facility to raise their EPF grievances on the EPFiGMS portal, also known as the EPF grievance portal. The portal also shows EPF grievance status.

Members of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) have an online platform to raise their grievances (complaints). They also have the option to do it offline . 

“Grievances can be lodged at any place and will land in concerned office to which the grievances pertain. Grievances can be sent to Head office at New Delhi or to the field offices now 135 across the country,” according to the EPFO portal.

By following some simple steps, they can raise their EPF grievances on the EPFiGMS (EPFi-Grievance Management System) portal. They can also track their EPF grievances’ status on this portal and send reminders on pending requests.

What is an EPF grievance?

The term EPF grievance broadly covers any complaint you may have with the EPFO about its procedures, any delays in service delivery, any incorrect data collection in its records, etc. Using the online grievance redress portal, you can get your issues addressed.

 

 

 

What should you know before raising EPF complaint on EPFiGMS?

Using this online medium, PF members, EPS pensioners, employers, etc., can lodge a complaint on EPFiGMS. The platform offers users the facility to opt for Hindi or English language to raise complaints. On the top right side of the page, you will have the option to change your language from English to Hindi and vice-versa.

What is the process to register a complaint on EPFO grievance portal?

 

Step 1: Go to the official page of EPFiGMS. On the top left side of the page, you will find the option ‘Register Grievance’. Click on this option.

Step 2: Once you click on ‘Register Grievance’ option, a new page opens that will ask you to input your status. Your status could be of a PF member, EPS pensioner, employer or ‘others’. Those who do not have a UAN, PPO number or establishment numbers (all employers have it) fall in the ‘others’ category.

Here, we are going with the PF member status.

Step 3: At this stage, you will be asked to check ‘yes’ or ‘no’ about your claim ID. In the example, we are going with ‘no’. Once you select ‘no’, you will be asked to input your UAN and security code before your select ‘Get Details’ option.

Step 4: At this point, your name, email ID and mobile number will appear on the screen. Click on the ‘Get OTP’ option to procced.

Step 5: Once you receive it on your registered mobile, use the OTP number.

Step 6: The page will now expand, asking you to provide your personal details like gender, address, etc.

Step 7: Under the section ‘Grievance Details’, it will ask you to select PF number, to lodge the grievance.

Step 8: A new box will now open asking you to input what the grievance is related to (PF office, employer, EDLI or pre-pension), grievance category and grievance description. In case you have documentary proof to support you claim, you have the option to choose and select that file.

Step 9: This will conclude the process to lodge your EPF grievance on EPFiGMS, following which a complaint number will be sent to your registered mobile number. An email to your registered ID will also be sent confirming the same.

How to check EPFiGMS grievance status?

On EPFiGMS, you can track your EPFiGMS grievance status by following these simple steps.

 

Step 1: Go to the official page of EPFiGMS. On the top left side of the page, you will find the option ‘View Status’. Click on it.

Step 2: On this page, you will have to provide details such as registration number (the number sent on your mobile after you lodged the complaint), grievance password (in case your grievance was registered on the earlier version of EPFiGMS) or your registered mobile number/email address with the security code. You can click ‘Submit’ once you input the details.

 

Step 3: The details of your EPFiGMS grievance status will be visible on the screen.

How to send a reminder on EPFiGMS?

In case your EPF grievance has not been addressed within a specific timeline, you can send a reminder to the department concerned about it on EPFiGMS. For pending requests, you can send reminders on EPFiGMS by following these steps.

 

Step 1: Go to the official page of EPFiGMS. On the top left side of the page, you will find ‘Send Reminder’ option. Click on it.

Step 2: Once you click on ‘Send Reminder’ option, a box asking for more details will open. Input your registration number (the number sent on your mobile after you lodged the complaint), grievance password (in case your grievance was registered on the earlier version of EPFiGMS) or your registered mobile number/email address and reminder description with the security code. You can click ‘Submit’ once you input these details.

 

Step 3: Once you click the submit button, a reminder will be sent to the department concerned, regarding your EPF grievance.

What kind of issues can be addressed through EPFiGMS?

You can lodge a complaint on the EPG grievance portal for issues related to the following matters:

  • PF withdrawal
  • Questions about PF balance
  • PF transfer (Form 11)
  • Pension settlement
  • EPF certificate (Form 10C)
  • Misplaced/bounced cheque
  • Form 5(IF)

 

How long it takes for an EPF grievance to get resolved?

It may take the EPFO up to 30 days to resolve an issue. However, that is the maximum time limit. In most of the cases, you would receive a response soon after you lodge a complaint.

 

What is EPF grievance registration number?

An EPF grievance registration number is sent to your mobile number after you successfully raise a grievance on EPFiGMS.

‘Members opting for higher pension can lodge complaint on EPFiGMS’

 

The EPFO on April 23, 2023, said that members opting for a higher pension can register their grievance on the EPFiGMS portal after submission of his request form and payment of due contribution.

“The registration of such grievances shall be under specified category of higher pension with reference to the Supreme Court judgment Dated November 4, 2022. All Such grievances shall be addressed and disposed of at the level of the nominated officer, and monitored by regional and zonal office in-charge,” it said in a circular.
