Under the revised tariff structure, consumers with plots of varying sizes will face different monthly charges.

March 21, 2024: The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has announced a water tariff hike of up to 10% for all consumer categories, including residential, group housing, institutional, industrial, and commercial, starting from April 1, 2024. This increase aims to generate more revenue to enhance water supply infrastructure and improve water quality.

Under the revised tariff structure, consumers with plots of varying sizes will face different monthly charges. For instance, those owning plots up to 60 square metres (sqm) will pay Rs 173 monthly, while those with plots ranging from 61 to 120 sqm will incur a charge of Rs 286 per month. Similarly, plot owners with sizes between 121 to 200 sqm will be charged Rs 516 monthly, and those with plots measuring 201 to 350 sqm will pay Rs 856 monthly.

For residential plot owners, the tariff varies based on plot size, ranging from Rs 1,141 per month for plots of 351 to 500 sqm, to Rs 1,999 per month for plots of 1,001 to 1,100 sqm. Owners of institutional, industrial, or commercial plots spanning 100 sqm to 61 acres will face monthly charges ranging from Rs 150 to Rs 72,757. Group housing plot owners with sizes from 1,000 sqm to 10 acres will see their monthly charges ranging from Rs 7,500 to Rs 1,79,748.

Moreover, GNIDA has introduced a 5% waiver for consumers paying their annual water bills within the next six months, by September 30, 2024. Failure to settle the annual water bill by March 2024 will result in a penal interest of up to 11% on outstanding dues. Additionally, consumers are advised to update their KYC details in the authority database to receive updates regarding water bill dues.
