Green Line in Bangalore comes under Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL). During the first construction phase, the Green Line was built along the Purple Line to improve transport facilities for people living in the city. This is also known as the Namma Metro and acts as the north-south corridor of Bangalore. This line is mostly elevated with 26 elevated stations and three underground stations.
A total of 29 stations are operational to date and three stations are under construction. This line became operational on 1 March 2014. In the north-west, the line connects Nagasandra to Silk Institute in the South. It also connects the industrial centres of Peenya and Yelahanka in the north, the Majestic hub in the centres, and some residential areas of Bangalore in the south.

Green Line Metro Bangalore: Fare and timings
The trains on the Green Line operate from 5 A.M. to 11 P.M. every day. But on Sundays, the timings change to 7 A.M. to 11 P.M. There are timings changes on public holidays and the second and fourth Saturdays to 6 A.M. to 10:35 P.M. The fare of the Namma Metro ranges between Rs 10 and Rs 60. If you have the smart card, you can get some discounts on the fare depending on the number of stations you travel. The price of the card is Rs 50.
Green Line Metro Bangalore: Impact on realty
Built along the purple line, the green line has increased connectivity for people within the city. The line also connects some residential and industrial stations, increasing the area’s value. Several localities are also built near the Green Metro Line. There has been a significant 13% increase in localities like Lalbagh, Banashankari, and Srirampura. In the last five years, these localities witnessed a 48% increase in their value. The rental demand has also increased along the Green Line Metro areas. Shortly, three more stations will be added to the Green Line, making it 33 km.
