Is motorcycle insurance mandatory in Telangana?

The Indian Motor Vehicle Act, section 146 specifies that the legally required minimum level of automobile insurance must consist of third-party general liability. This requirement is in place to ensure that the driver’s vehicle features some level of financial protection in the event that an accident occurs. It is required that people get insurance for their automobiles regardless of whether they use them for private, recreational, or leisure purposes or for business-related activities. The certificate of insurance for the vehicle is to be kept by the vehicle driver at all times, and if questioned by a law enforcement officer, they must be able to present it.

The insured is protected against legal and financial obligations that may emerge as a consequence of the insured’s actions, such as the death of a third party, damage to a private entity, or harm to a third party’s possessions. This protection comes in the form of an insurance contract called third-party liability coverage. Owing to its limited benefits, it is suggested that you choose a thorough two-wheeler insurance cover instead. This type of policy provides a higher level of protection and offers benefits for a wide range of occurrences that end up causing damage or injury to you or your vehicle. In addition, this type of policy is more affordable.

A renewed registration certificate will be issued by the registering authority after all of the vehicle’s documentation has been checked and the vehicle has been inspected. Following the first renewal of the RC, further renewals are required every 5 years using the same procedure. In addition to this, one must bear in mind that the application for RC renewal must be submitted within the preceding 60 days after the initial RC of the vehicle’s expiration date.
