Gurgaon collector rates may increase by 70%

Citizens can provide their objections and suggestions on the collector rate till December 7, 2023.

November 28, 2023: Property prices in Gurgaon is expected to witness a 70% increase as new collector rates have been proposed by the district administration for 2024, officials said as cited in a Businessinsider report. Objections to the proposed rates have been sought from the people till December 7, 2023, officials said. The new collector rates proposed by the district administration in rural and urban areas have been posted on the district administration’s official website.

Citizens can provide their objections and suggestions on the collector rate till December 7, 2023. After hearing the claims and objections, the collector rates will be sent to the government by the administration. As mentioned in the media report, district revenue officer Poonam Babbar has said that the suggestions on the objections registered will be considered. The report cited the official as stating that different committees will work on this. Considering all the suggestions, the new proposed rates and suggestions would be sent to the state government. The committee appointed by the government will complete its process and send information to the administration.

As suggested by the administration, a 40 to 80% increase in the rates of agricultural and commercial land in Badshahpur has been proposed. In Farrukhnagar, increased prices have been proposed for agricultural land by 87% and for commercial land by 35%. Changes have been proposed in the rates of 61 to 70% of residential and commercial land in the Wazirabad tehsil area.

The collector rate in Gurgaon is determined by the Gurugram district administration. It is the minimum value below which a property cannot be registered in the government’s records. One can visit the official website of the district administration at https://gurugram.gov.in/ to view the proposed collector rates.
