Property tax is imposed by local bodies annually in India on the house ownership. With most local bodies bringing the payment system online, payment of property tax has become convenient. This guide explains the process of paying property tax online in Mohali, Punjab.
Stepwise process to pay property tax online in Mohali
Step 1: Go to the official website of IG Punjab at https://lgpunjab.gov.in/cms/pay-property-tax.php.
Step 2: Under ‘Pay Your Property Tax’ option, you will find the link to pay property tax in Mohali. Click on it.
Step 3: You will be redirected to a new page with an option to pay property tax. Click on it.
Step 4: You can choose the language between English and Punjabi.
Step 5: Provide your name, and mobile number to proceed.
Step 6: You will receive an OTP on your mobile. Enter the OTP and click on Continue.
Step 7: On the next page, click on the property tax option.
Step 8: Property owners, who have been paying property tax in the past, can do so by simply providing details shown in the image below.
Step 9: New property owners will have to follow a more detailed procedure for the first time.

Step 10: Click on Add New Property option.
Step 11: You will have to fill in a detailed form divided into four sections:

Owner Details
Review and Pay
Step 12: Once all details are filled in, choose your payment method.
Step 13: Once the payment is made successfully, you will receive an acknowledgement receipt.
