The Green Line Hyderabad Metro is 16.6 km long and has 15 stations.

The Hyderabad Metro Green Line is a 16.6-km metro long line, part of the Hyderabad Metro system. This metro has been developed under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode between the Telangana State and Larsen & Toubro (L&T) with the government having minority stake. L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad Limited (L&TMRHL), a special purpose vehicle (SPV) company was put in place to develop the Hyderabad Metro Rail project. There are 15 stations on the Hyderabad Metro Green Line of which nine are operational.

  • Hyderabad Metro Green Line: The 11 km stretch from JBS Parade Ground to MG Bus Station was inaugurated on February 20, 2022 by former Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao. The Green Line Metro was operational from February 21, 2022, and has nine stations.
  • Hyderabad Metro Green Line Phase-2: The remaining stretch of 5.6 km from MG Bus Station to Falaknuma will include six stations. Revanth Reddy, Chief Minister of Telangana laid the foundation stone for this line on March 8, 2024.
  • It will be built under the 70 km Hyderabad Metro Phase- 2 project and it costs around Rs 2,000 Cr.

 

Hyderabad Metro Green Line: Extension

  • As per media reports, the Hyderabad Metro Green Line was originally planned for 15 km. Now, the project has been revised and it will include a 1.6 km-extension from Falaknuma to Chandrayangutta.
  • Chandrayangutta will be an interchange station to be developed on the recently planned Airport Line of Nagole-LB Nagar-Chandrayangutta-Mailardevpally-P7 Road and Shamshabad Airport.
