The Hyderabad Metro Red Line is a 29.21-km metro line that is part of the Hyderabad Metro system in Telangana. It has been developed under a public-private partnership (PPP) between the Telangana state and the construction company, Larsen & Toubro. The first metro line in Hyderabad, it has 27 stations and has been serving since 2017.

Hyderabad Metro Red Line: Opening date
The Hyderabad Metro Red Line opened for the public in phases.
- Hyderabad Metro Red Line Phase 1was an3-km stretch from Miyapur to Ameerpet and included 11 stations. It was inaugurated by PM Modi on November 28, 2017.
- Hyderabad Metro Red Line Phase 2 covered the remaining stretch of 16 stations from Ameerpet to LB Nagar and was inaugurated by PM Modi on September 24, 2018.
Hyderabad Metro Red Line: Interchanges
- Five stations on the Hyderabad Metro Red Line serve as interchange stations.
- Ameerpet Station connects the Hyderabad Metro Red Line and Green Line.
- MG Bus Station connects the Hyderabad Metro Red Line, Green Line and the Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station.
- Dilsukhnagar Station connects the Hyderabad Metro Red Line with the Dilsukhnagar Bus Station.

First metro from Miyapur Station: 6 AM
Last metro from Miyapur Station: 11 PM
- On weekdays, the frequency of the Hyderabad Metro Red Line is around 3-5 minutes during peak hours and 6-8 minutes during non-peak hours.
- On weekends, the frequency of the metro services is around 6-8 minutes during peak hours and 10-15 minutes during non-peak hours.

Hyderabad Metro Red Line: Extension
As per media reports, a Hyderabad Metro Red Line extension is proposed to connect Miyanagr, BHEL, Kondapur, Gachibowli, Raidurg, Mehdipatnam, Masab Tank and Lakdikapul. This will be around 26 km and will have elevated stations.

L&T may exit Hyderabad Metro after 2026
With the Telangana state government offering free bus ride scheme for women, there is a dip in ridership on the Hyderabad Metro. This has impacted sales of the metro. As a result, L&T which is the majority owner with 90% of Hyderabad Metro under it is planning to exit the project after 2026. The Telangana government has 10% of the Hyderabad Metro. According to reports, the Hyderabad metro ridership fell from 5.5 lakh in November 2023 to 4.6 lakh now.
