India’s first Vedic theme park Vedvan opens in Noida’s Sector 78

The construction of the park began in January 2021 and cost Rs 27 crore.

Vedvan, India’s first Vedic theme park, has opened up in Sector 78, Noida. Inaugurated by Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath, its construction cost Rs 27 crore. The park has over 50,000 plants that are mentioned in the Vedas including banyan, neem, coconut and kalpavriksha.

It hosts laser shows and features sculptures and wall paintings, highlighting excerpts from the four Vedic literature pieces- Rig Veda, Atharva Veda, Yajur Veda and Sama Veda.

Vedvan’s construction began in January 2021 on a piece of land that used to serve as a dump yard. The park will serve residents of housing societies in sectors 74 to 79 as well as those from other nearby communities, stated the officials.

The theme park is divided into seven zones named after the sages of the Vedic age including Kashyap, Bharadwaj, Gautam, Atri, Vasishtha, Vishvamitra and Agastya. It has an amphitheatre and an outdoor gym powered by solar energy. Vedvan remains open to visitors from 8 AM to 9 PM daily. A Vedic-themed laser show is held in the park every night at 7:45 PM.
