What is Haryana Mukhyamantri Shehri Awas Yojana?

Taking cue from the centre’s Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), the Haryana government launched the Haryana Mukhyamantri Shehri Awas Yojana on February 1, 2024, under which affordable houses and plots will be provided to poor families who reside in urban areas of Haryana. What is Mukhyamantri Shehri Awas Yojana?

Catering to the lower income group (LIG), people with no pucca house will be given housing units and plots on behalf of state governments. Industry estimates mention that over one lakh families will be helped with this scheme.

• Land allocation for Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP), where over 50,000 plots and 50,000 flats will be built.
• Price for plots is Rs 1 Lakh.
• Price for flats is Rs 6 Lakh – Rs 8 Lakh.
• The property will have basic facilities and amenities.
• Beneficiaries can choose between flats and plots. 

Which cities will have plots and flats under Mukhyamantri Shehri Awas Yojana?

Charkhi Dadri, Fatehabad, Gohana, Jagadhri, Jhajjar, Julana, Karnal, Mahendragarh, Palwal, Pinjore, Rohtak, Rewari, Safidon, and Sirsa will benefit from Mukhyamantri Shehri Awas Yojana. 

Mukhyamantri Shehri Awas Yojana: Eligibility 

• Must be a resident of urban area in Haryana.
• Annual family income should not be more than Rs 1.8 Lakh.
• No family member should have a pucca house under his/her name in any urban area. 
• The applicant should be registered under the Family Identity Card Scheme.
• Applicant should not be a beneficiary of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) or any other government scheme.
