Palghar is a town comprising of several villages like Kelva, Satpati and Shirgaon, located in the Thane

district of Maharashtra. Mumbai city is located 87 km away from Palghar.

The town has a history of its own being situated close to nearby towns of Javhar and Vasai. Palghar is

one of the important towns during the 1942 Chalejav campaign. There were several uprisings during

this time and it became the place for several martyrs. Palghar is home to the communities of Warali,
